We're about 24 hours from the game and I've not heard from very many people. So far we have 3 people confirmed as "yes", and one in the "maybe" column. Please reach out to me today via either email or text (609.792.7080) and let me know if your player plans to be there. If we aren't going to have enough players I'd like to deal with that situation sooner rather than later.
***If you are playing you must have the Participant Waiver signed. ***This is the guidance that I have received from the league - no waiver, no play. I will bring a few blanks on paper, but if you have it signed and can send it to me that would be great.
Some reminders around safety -
Coaches and referees will be wearing masks
We will do the best we can to keep the kids separated when they are on the bench.
If you or your child is sick, sniffling, coughing, please consider skipping the game. No hard feelings, no worries, we'll get everyone plenty of play when we're healthy.
Here's a snippet from the waiver and also a link to the CDC guidelines for how to handle exposure:
"MYSHA has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of communicable diseases; however, we cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected while attending our facilities. While we’ve implemented reasonable preventive measures, we depend on each and every visitor and their families to follow the guidelines from the Center of Disease Control, and all applicable federal, state, and local health department guidelines, rules, laws, and regulations before and while visiting our premises. We are all in this together and rely on each other to adhere to the above-mentioned guidance and legal restrictions."
Looking forward to getting out there and blowing off some steam for an hour or so!
Game Saturday 1/23 at 12:45PM
It's finally here! The Senators' first game of the season, where we will take on the mighty Red Wings! (I have no idea if they are mighty)
****Parents/Guardians/responsible parties - You must fill out the waiver for your player to play. PLEASE let me know if you have done this in tandem with another of your kids on another team, or just take a picture of your signed one and email or text it to me.
Gametime: The game is due to start at 12:45. Please try to come a few mins before 12:30 so we make sure we are all sorted out.
Roster: We are going to be down at least one player on Saturday, so please if you can't make it - let me know.
Goalie: Mr. Shane Farren is going to be between the pipes for us!
Equipment: Get your helmets, gloves, shinpads, MOUTH PIECES, and sticks ready
Jerseys: The moment we've all been waiting for! The jerseys are here at my house (in a bag, away from the family) and they are pretty nice! White with black and red trim. Current plan is to bring them to the game on Saturday, but if your kid is like I would be and needs to have it, I can separate them out in bags and put them out for contactless pickup on my front wall.
Thank you for your patience and for your understanding on the delays. We'll get out there and play but we've got to keep everyone safe.
Please hit me up on my cell or via email if you have questions or want to pick up the jersey as early as tonight!
One more week! Re-start on 1/22
Hey Team! I hope you all are doing well - its been a lonely locker room, but getting and keeping everyone healthy is critical.
Hopefully you all got the email from the league stating that we are scheduled to get started again on 1/22. We will miss another practice, but that doesn't mean that you can't get out there and do some work with the stick and a ball. If you don't have a net, practice passing against a curb or a stone wall - practice stickhandling in the driveway - even better get a grownup or a sibling out there. The weather staying warm so make sure you're getting ready to play!
A couple of housekeeping items that I want to make sure you get info on:
Waivers - PLEASE send over your signed waivers. You can sign and take picture of them with your phone and either text it or email to me. We don't need the paper copies (I will surely lose them).
Masks for coaches - Coaches will be wearing masks on the bench with the players to help protect them
Spectators - We're still allowed to have spectators! Please mask up and come support the team - normal social distancing guidelines apply please!
Equipment - make sure you have your mouthpieces ready these are really important and can save teeth and especially big brains
I'm looking forward to seeing you all next weekend! Let me know if you need anything or have any questions!
